Boys’ basketball: Poly on top of Crenshaw, 61-44

There are 24 minutes down and eight to go and barring an epic comeback by the home team, Long Beach Poly will advance in the Southern California Regional Division I playoffs.

The Jackrabbits hold a commanding 61-44 lead and have quieted the home crowd at Crenshaw by outscoring the Cougars, 21-10, in the third quarter.

It’s not over yet, but Crenshaw will need to stop Poly’s dribble penetration and take smarter shots on offense to make this a game.
