Having lost in the Southern Section Division 4A final last year, Windward School was not going to be denied this time around. The Wildcats led from start to finish, using their size and depth to overwhelm Bishop Montgomery, 68-46, in the Division 4AA title game at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Four players scored in double figures for the top-seeded Wildcats (25-4), with freshman guard Jordin Canada (14 points and seven assists) leading the way. Junior forward Imani Stafford added 12 points and 11 rebounds, freshman forward Kristen Simon had 11 points and 11 rebounds and sophomore guard Courtney Jaco added 10 points for Windward.

Senior guard Kristen Ale finished with 16 points and five rebounds and senior forward Chelsey Aaron added 11 points and three assists for the second-seeded Knights (22-10), who lost to Windward 68-54 in a nonleague game February 5.

It was the 16th consecutive win for Windward, which dominated the backboards, out-rebounding Bishop Montgomery by a 54-26 margin. The Knights cut their deficit to 42-34 in the first 30 seconds of the fourth quarter, but Windward scored the next five points to resume control.
