Baseball: Moorpark gets sweep in Arizona

In Arizona, Moorpark won two tournament games.

The Musketeers (7-6) defeated Farmington (N.M.) Piedra Vista, 4-0. Taylor Ready went three for three with three RBIs. Trevor Weston threw a complete game, allowing two hits. In the second game, Moorpark defeated Denver (Colo.) Mullen, 6-1. Austin Cole hit a three-run home run. Jared Mattera threw six shutout innings.

Cleveland defeated Sun Valley Poly, 5-2. Steven Perez threw 5 1/3 innings, striking out six and giving up one run.

Granada Hills (9-4), tuning up for its West Valley League opener next week, defeated Arleta, 4-0. Nathaniel Pyle threw the first two innings and Ryan McBride threw the final five innings, combining on a two-hitter.

North Hollywood defeated Gardena, 4-1. Andrew Marmor threw a complete game and Marvin Galvez had two hits.

Murrieta Mesa defeated Chaparral, 5-3, to improve to 7-3. Chandler Wagoner had a two-run double.

Sierra Canyon improved to 8-3 under first-year Coach Rick Weber with a 9-0 victory over Los Angeles Baptist. Sean Adler struck out 10 and had a three-run double. Brentwood defeated New Roads, 6-3. Aaron Fritts threw a complete game.

In the Valley Mission League, San Fernando defeated Reseda, 23-0. Jose Haros had three hits and five RBIs. Fernando Lopez had three hits.
