The Azusa City Council has unanimously voted to contract with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society and Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for animal-control services. The Humane Society is located at 851 E. Grand Ave. in San Gabriel and is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Animal visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The society will patrol Azusa daily and staff members will be on call 24 hours a day. Any wildlife found in the city of Azusa will receive veterinary attention in the society's hospital and will be raised, rehabilitated and released to the wild. The city will continue to issue dog licenses.
