Jack Lambert, sidelined most of the season with a toe injury, was a surprise participant as the Pittsburgh Steelers held their first full-scale workout for Sunday’s American Football Conference championship game against the Miami Dolphins.
Lambert, placed on the injured reserve list more than a month ago, worked out in full equipment and is eligible to be activated.
“I’d say there is a good chance he will be activated and play a spot role,” Steelers’ spokesman Joe Gordon said.
Lambert has played only sparingly after suffering a dislocated toe in the first quarter of Steelers’ regular-season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
