Calsonic Inc. of Irvine, a manufacturer of air conditioners for automobiles, will use the proceeds of a $6.5-million industrial revenue bond issue to expand its production capacity.

The expansion, expected to be completed in June, will almost double the present work force to 303 people by 1987, the company says. Calsonic also predicts sales revenues will jump to $120 million from the present $76.5 million.

The 10-year revenue bonds were issued by the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Irvine and sold through the First Boston Corp. on Dec. 21.
