Stock prices were mixed today in a session marked by weakness in some blue-chip issues.
The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials closed down 5.41 at 1,218.09.
New York Stock Exchange volume was about 107.59 million shares compared with 124.68 million shares Thursday.
