Interior Design Chapters Honored for Civic Work

Share

The Pasadena and Orange County chapters of the American Society of Interior Designers received Designer magazine’s “Designer Community Service Award” at the society’s convention in Chicago. The award honors chapters who have served their communities by donating services to worthwhile civic projects.

The Pasadena chapter’s award was for its efforts, chaired by Constance Ledendecker, in the restoration and revitalization of the Pasadena Playhouse, State Theatre of California. The Orange County chapter, under the guidance of Elaine Redfield, public service chairman, helped design the office of the new Costa Mesa Performing Arts Center.

If the free services had been billed, the Pasadena chapter’ contribution would be $25,000 and the Orange County unit’s, $10,000. Other chapters receiving the magazine’s award were New York Metropolitan, whose contribution was equivalent to $50,000, and Louisiana, $10,000.
