Oil Solution

I know how Fay Samulon (Letters, Jan. 7) could get Armand Hammer to stop looking for oil in Pacific Palisades. Fay should get together with all her similarly concerned friends and stop buying oil and gasoline. Rather than shoulder the cost of shipping the oil great distances to where it is consumed, he would probably give up looking for it in your area.

If you are insecure about your future, Fay, move away from the oil wells. There are no oil wells in South Los Angeles, in the Sahara or on Mars.
