Four people were taken to Paradise Valley Hospital on Wednesday afternoon to be cleansed of a toxic pesticide that was spilled from a truck on the South Bay Freeway near Woodman Street in Bonita. A California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said about four gallons of the pesticide Diazonin were spilled about 4:05 p.m. when Larry Hage, 29, swerved his pickup truck to avoid colliding with another vehicle that had made an illegal lane change. Hage and three people in a following car that was splattered with the pesticide were taken to Paradise Valley for “decontamination,” the spokeswoman said. No injuries were reported. Traffic was diverted around the spill and clean up crews remained on the job late Wednesday, the spokeswoman said.
