An 18-year-old National City man died just after midnight Saturday of stab wounds in the chest. He was injured during what apparently was a gang fight in the 700 block of East Division Street, National City, a National City police spokeswoman said. Miguel Rodate Ayala was taken to Paradise Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead of multiple stab wounds. Seven others were taken to four area hospital where they were treated for stab wounds ranging from minor to serious, the spokeswoman said. There are no suspects, and police do not know why the fight started.
