A teen-ager, her disfigured face and head...
A teen-ager, her disfigured face and head masked in bandages and gauze, told a San Barnardino court how she was sexually assaulted and doused with acid, allegedly by a 65-year-old man who gave her a ride to school. Jack Oscar King listened to the girl’s testimony as he sat 12 feet away. He was bound over for trial in Superior Court by Municipal Judge Art McKinster on charges of attempted murder, attempted rape, oral copulation, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and kidnaping. A family friend held the hand of Cheryl Bess, 15, through 90 minutes of testimony in the preliminary hearing closed to the public.
