The Pittsburgh-based company, which is moving its headquarters to San Francisco as a result of its $13.3-billion buy-out last year by Chevron, said it’s asking $40 million for the pyramid-capped building. The city landmark, with its Art Deco architecture and rooftop weather beacon, has served as Gulf’s corporate headquarters for more than half a century. Brochures advertising the 44-story building’s private health spa, dining facilities and executive suites are being distributed throughout the nation, a Gulf spokesman said.
