Lintz’ 23-point outburst came within a field goal of matching its entire output for the first three periods. The charge was led by sophomore forward Sam Torbati, who finished with 19 points and seven rebounds, and Marty Danzer, who added 13 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Forward Dirk Hare scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds Tuesday night to lead Hart High School to a 66-55 win over Burroughs and remain undefeated in the Foothill League.

Hart guard Greg Spencer helped by scoring 14 points, while forward Mike Ford contributed 13 points and 8 rebounds for Hart (3-0, 12-4 overall).

Although the Burroughs squad was taller and played at home, Hart players proved to be stronger. They out-rebounded Burroughs, 9-2, in the first quarter en route to a 17-12 lead.

In the second quarter, both teams began to battle. Hart led by five for most of the quarter, and made one more free throw than Burroughs to take a 29-23 halftime lead. Hart took control of the game in the third quarter, however, outscoring Burroughs, 20-10, to lead 39-27.

After Burroughs cut the lead to 51-40, Hart scored five straight points to lead by 16 again. The Indians never looked back.

For Burroughs (1-2, 8-9 overall), Miguel Diaz had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Robert Fundter and Rob Scott tossed in 10 points each.

Hart out-rebounded Burroughs, 44-28, in the game and made 16 of 24 free throws. Burroughs hit 10 of 18 attempts from the foul line.

Murphy 56, Chaminade 45

Lance Malvavex scored 19 points and Andre Dougins added 14 to lead unbeaten Murphy High to its victory over host Chaminade in a Santa Fe League game.

The Nobles, 6-0 in the league, took a 10-6 lead after one quarter and maintained their margin through the first half, leading 24-20. They stretched their margin to 40-31 after three quarters.

Jeff Gohl scored 22 points for the Eagles, who dropped to 4-11 overall and 2-4 in the league.

Temple Christian 68, Lutheran 33

Forward Jeff Boehm poured in 32 points to lead Temple Christian to rout of Lutheran.

The Knights, who are now 12-2 overall and 7-0 in the Herritage League, took a 16-8 lead after one quarter and stretched it to 32-17 at the half.

Lutheran was led by Jonathan Doering, who had 18 points, and Joey Miranda, who added nine.

The loss dropped the Barons to 7-7 overall and 3-4 in league play.
