MOSCOW —
World chess champion Anatoly Karpov agreed to a draw offered by challenger Gary Kasparov, playing black, on the 36th move of the 45th game of the world championship Wednesday. Karpov leads the series, 5 to 1, and needs one more victory to retain the crown.
