Home Resales Hit Best Level Since ’80

Sales of existing homes reached 2.87 million units last year, the best performance since 1980, a housing trade group reported today.

The National Assn. of Realtors said sales in 1984 climbed 5.5% above the 1983 total and were 44.1% higher than the recession low-point of 1982.
