5 NEW TRUSTEES NAMED TO SERVE ON FILMEX BOARD

Five new members have joined the board of trustees of the Los Angeles International Film Exposition, bringing the total to 44.

The new trustees, who will serve three-year terms, include Peter Morton, owner of the Hard Rock cafes in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and London; Kirk C. Calhoun, managing partner of the Los Angeles office of the accounting firm of Arthur Young & Co.; Gary Concoff, a partner in the law firm of Sidley & Austin and head of its motion picture and entertainment group; William B. Keast, retired vice chairman of Coopers & Lybrand, certified public accountants, and Jonathan Goodson, of Goodson-Todman Productions, which produces TV game shows.

The new appointees, who filled existing vacancies on the board, were chosen to more fully represent the business community, Filmex’s executive director Suzanne McCormick said Friday.

“The board used to be heavily entertainment-oriented,” McCormick noted. “Many of the businesses now represented on the board have international ties in the Pacific Basin and Europe, and they wanted to be involved in an international festival.”
