Carter’s Nephew Back in Jail for Probation Abuse

OROVILLE, Calif. —
William Carter Spann, who calls himself the “bad peanut” of former President Jimmy Carter’s family, was back in the Butte County Jail on Friday for a probation violation.
The former President’s 38-year-old nephew admitted at a probation hearing Thursday that he had failed to report for a job placement program and had moved his residence in Chico without notifying officials, authorities said.
