Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley urged candidates in City Council and citywide races to contribute $1,000 each to help finance an April 9 ballot measure that would limit campaign donations. The measure, Charter Amendment 1, would set a $500 limit for contributions to City Council candidates and a $1,000 ceiling to candidates for mayor, city attorney and city controller. Under his proposal, Bradley said, $50,000 could be raised for the campaign limitation measure.
