The MISL : Lazers Beaten by Force, 5-4

RICHFIELD, Ohio — Keith Furphy scored three goals and Peter Ward added a pair as the Cleveland Force took a 5-0 halftime lead and held on to edge the Lazers, 5-4, before 13,283 fans in a Major Indoor Soccer League game Friday night.
It was Cleveland’s fifth victory in the last seven games and left it Friday’s Game
with a 13-12 record in the MISL’s Eastern Division.
The Lazers, who have lost four straight and six of their last seven, are 15-11 and in third place in the Western Division.
Carlos “Cacho” Cordoba scored a pair of goals within 57 seconds early in the third quarter and Roberto “Beto” Dos Santos scored late in the quarter to pull the Lazers to within 5-3.
With 9:57 left in the game, Stuart Lee made the score 5-4, but Cleveland, sparked by the defensive work of Bernie James and goalkeeper Chris Vaccaro, shut down Los Angeles the rest of the way.
