Israel Curbs Mecca Trips

TEL AVIV —
Israel is imposing new restrictions on pilgrimages by its Arab citizens to Mecca and will allow only those over 35 who have never previously made the trip to go this year, an Interior Ministry spokesman said Thursday. Younger pilgrims present a greater security risk, the spokesman added. the pilgrimage takes place this year in August.
