Gray Enters Indoor Championship in 880
Johnny Gray, who set the world indoor best for 880 yards in Friday night’s Michelob Invitational track and field meet at San Diego, has entered the USA-Mobil Indoor Championships Feb. 22 at Madison Square Garden.
Gray was timed in 1 minute, 46.9 seconds at San Diego, erasing the mark of 1:47.97 held by Randy Wilson of the United States. Gray also set the American 800-meter record in the process.
Gray also owns the American outdoor record for 800 meters, having clocked 1:42.96 last summer at Koblenz, West Germany.
