Moorpark stole nine bases and received 10 walks on the way to a 9-4 win over L.A. City at Moorpark.

Moorpark scored two runs in the second inning, three in the third and one in the fourth to stake Steve Wapnick to a 6-2 lead. Wapnick gave up all four runs--two unearned in 6 innings for his second win. Santa Monica 7, Mission 5

Santa Monica scored six runs in the first four innings to eliminate Mission in second-round play at the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament in Walnut.

Centerfielder Randy Holst, shortstop Manny Alfaro, first baseman David Peskin and second baseman Bill Kuersten each had two hits for the Free Spirit.

Mission had eight hits to the six for Santa Monica but had four men picked off base. Ron Webb took the loss.

Santa Ana 15, Valley 1

Santa Ana loaded the bases on an error, a stolen base, a dropped third strike, and a walk in the first inning and Ruben Gonzales followed with a home run in a game at Santa Ana.

Valley got 10 hits but managed only the one run and fell to 0-2-1.

Mira Costa 8, Pierce 2

Doug Smith tripled in two runs in a seven-run second inning for Mira Costa to knock Pierce out of the Mt. SAC Tournament. John Kohli was the winning pitcher for the Spartans while Darin Dotson took the loss.
