David Copperfield will be back on CBS...

David Copperfield will be back on CBS with a new bag of magic tricks March 8. Joining him for his seventh special on the network will be Angie Dickinson, Peggy Fleming and Teri Copley.

“North and South,” the 10-hour Civil War miniseries that ABC plans to broadcast next season, will feature a bevy of big-name guest stars. Among them: Gene Kelly, Robert Mitchum, Elizabeth Taylor, Jean Simmons, Morgan Fairchild, Hal Holbrook, Johnny Cash and Robert Guillaume. The story, based on the John Jakes novel, focuses on two families--one from the South, one from the North--whose fates become entwined through the friendship of two of their young men.

Jessica (Angela Lansbury) is introduced to the world of professional football in next Sunday’s installment of “Murder, She Wrote.” Appearing as football players will be retired gridiron star Dick Butkus and former Olympic champion Bruce Jenner.

For the week before Easter, NBC’s “Today” show will originate from Rome. Jane Pauley and Bryant Gumbel will anchor reports on a variety of subjects, ranging from disarmament, terrorism and relations in the Middle East to the “beauty and character of the Old World.” The programs will air April 1 through 5.
