A 19-year-old Escondido college student died Thursday when his car was struck head-on by a car that crossed the center line of a road, a deputy county coroner said. Christopher Paul Dehoff a student at Palomar College, was driving south on Bear Valley Parkway when a car driven north by George Anthony Jiminez, 18, crossed into the south lane and collided with Dehoff’s car, deputy coroner Charles Kelly said. Dehoff died after being taken to Palomar Memorial Hospital. Jiminez and a teen-age passenger in Dehoff’s car, Kimberly Thomas of Escondido, were also taken to Palomar Hospital. Jiminez was in stable condition and Thomas was in “critical but stable” condition, a nursing supervisor said.
