Chula Vista

A 47-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday night in the 1500 block of Marl Avenue in Chula Vista. Police identified the victim as Manuel Gonzalez Acuna of San Diego, who they said was shot once in the chest when he visited the residence of Ricky John Gloria, 43, for an unknown reason. Gloria, Ramone Flores, age unknown, and Fernando Romera Gomez, 40, were arrested at the scene. Flores was later released uncharged, Gloria was booked on suspicion of murder and illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun, and Gomez was booked on suspicion of a parole violation. Police were also seeking a woman and two children who may have witnessed the slaying and fled the scene in a pickup truck.
