Evert LLoyd Enters Challenge Cup Event
Chris Evert Lloyd is the first player to enter the four-woman $275,000 Challenge Cup tennis match, to be held at the PGA National April 5-7.
The tournament committee invites four of the world’s top-ranked women’s players to participate in the Challenge Cup, one of whom is designated as the “wild-card” player.
The wild-card player goes against a fifth woman--the winner of the $50,000 Challenge Round which will be played March 23-31 at PGA--for the fourth spot in the tournament.
Evert Lloyd has won three previous tournaments at PGA National, home of the Women’s Tennis Assn.
