2 Plead for Thieves to Return Videotape

A Thousand Oaks couple said Tuesday they lost a videotape of their 16-month-old adopted son’s first vacation trip and Christmas celebration when burglars looted their Agoura Hills wine shop.

No questions will be asked and a reward will be offered if the three-hour tape is returned, said Sioux Ogburn, who owns the Wine Seller shop with her husband, Bart.

“The tape won’t mean anything to whoever took it, but it means everything to us,” Ogburn said. “We don’t care about the wine they took or the camera.”

About 50 cases of wine worth about $8,000 were stolen Saturday night from the shop at 29508 Roadside Drive after burglars tore a hole in the store’s rear wall, she said. A video camera containing the tape was also taken.

Ogburn said scenes on the tape include son Grant’s first attempts at feeding himself as well as his first visit to Napa Valley’s wine country, where the couple go on wine-buying trips. She said the tape was about two-thirds full.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said their investigation is continuing but they have no suspects.
