A 15-year-old Los Angeles boy was shot and killed in what police called a gang-related, drive-by shooting. Donnie Newton was walking with friends on 108th Street near Central Avenue when a car pulled up alongside the group, police said. Someone in the car shouted a gang name, and a .22-caliber revolver was fired from the auto, said Los Angeles Police Detective Ray Paik. One slug hit Newton in the chest, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at Martin Luther King Jr. Medical Center.
