Schwartz Wins Speedway Main in Finale
Bobby Schwartz of Balboa Island won the main event in the Speedway Spring Classic Finale Saturday night in front of 6,791 spectators at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach. Schwartz finished ahead of Sam Ermolenko of Garden Grove and Rick Miller of Reseda in the last of this three-race series.
Mike Faria of Anaheim finished first in the series standings with 353 points. Brad Oxley (San Clemente) finished tied for second with Schwartz at 295 and Ermolenko was third with 256.
Tim McCasland of Van Nuys was the winner of the handicap main event.
