Peoplexpress is offering one-way flights between Newark, N.J., and Los Angeles and San Francisco at $99 on all flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The fare is also available from 18 other cities in the East and Midwest as well as Houston, Tex. That means the first leg of the trip from those 18 cities to Newark or the West Coast departure points will be free. Flights on Friday through Monday will be $129 off-peak and $169 during peak season.
