College Baseball : Cal State Fullerton Defeats San Jose
Cal State Fullerton hit four home runs Sunday to defeat San Jose State, 8-1, in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game at Titan Field.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning, Kevin Reimer and Blaine Larker hit back-to-back home runs to put the Titans (3-2 in conference, 11-13-1 overall) ahead. Keith Watkins hit a solo home run in the sixth inning and a two-run shot in the seventh.
Mike Belanger (4-1) pitched eight innings and got the victory. Ron Rooker, who couldn’t get out of the second inning, was the loser. The Spartans’ records dropped to 3-3 and 9-12, respectively.
