UCI Women Beat Utah in Tennis
UC Irvine’s No. 1 singles player, Stephanie Rhorer defeated Marcia Foote in a 3 1/2-hour match, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, to help the Anteater women’s tennis team beat Utah, 7-2, Friday on the Irvine courts.
Irvine’s Lola Trenwith defeated Kathy McRoberts, 6-3, 6-2. Colleen Patton, a 6-4, 6-1, winner over Ismene Vetas, and Haruko Shigekawa, who downed Jill Collett, 6-1, 6-2, helped Irvine improve its record to 13-11.
The Anteaters, who play April 3 against Loyola Marymount, swept the doubles matches without losing a set.
