Election Scheduled Tuesday for State Senior Legislature

Elections for representatives to the California Senior Legislature will be held Tuesday at four South Bay locations.

Registered voters age 60 and over will be eligible to vote in their communities for three candidates for state assembly and two for state senate.

The Senior Legislature convenes each year in Sacramento to propose and support legislation for the elderly. Officials serve two-year terms.

South Bay polling locations are El Segundo Joslyn Recreation Center, 3395 Sheldon St., El Segundo; Lomita City Hall, 24300 Narbonne Ave., Lomita; Peninsula Center, Hawthorne Boulevard and Silver Spur Road, Palos Verdes; and Torrance Albert Bartlett Adult Center, 1318 Cravens Ave., Torrance.

Assembly candidates for the 4th Supervisoral District are Roy E. Pepper of Lakewood, Florence E. Derby of Lakewood, Daniel Cohen of Santa Monica, Dayle Saffell of Lomita, William C. Aston of Bellflower and Ursel C. Nolte of Torrance.

State senate candidates are George P. Schweitzer of Glendale, Richard Palmer of Long Beach, John Sonneborn of Rancho Palos Verdes, William Adrians of Baldwin Park, Susan W. Boyd of Compton, Clag Offut of Hacienda Heights and John B. Bernadou of Inglewood.

Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
