Newport Beach : Assemblyman Sets Up Hearing on Toxic Pollution of the Bay

Assemblyman Gil Ferguson (R-Newport Beach) has scheduled a special state hearing for 9 a.m. Thursday at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach to explore the problems of toxic pollution in Newport Bay.

Ferguson hopes the three-hour meeting, which is open to the public, will bring together experts and concerned citizens to discuss recent reports that reveal dangerous levels of toxic pollution in Newport Bay.

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, the California Water Quality Resources Board, the State Department of Fish and Game, the Orange County Environmental Health Care Agency, the City of Newport Beach and the medical profession will be present.
