Aztecs Shut Out Western New Mexico

SAN DIEGO — Senior right-hander Tim Arnsberg pitched a three-hit shutout as San Diego State defeated Western New Mexico, 13-0, Tuesday at Smith Field. Arnsberg, who struck out seven and walked two, is 4-1 this season.
Third baseman Deron Johnson had three hits for the Aztecs, and center fielder Chris Gwynn, returning after missing a month with a wrist injury, drove in two runs with a fifth-inning triple.
San Diego State is 20-9. Jim Jackson took the loss for the Mustangs, who are 19-6.
