NEW YORK — “Places in the Heart,” “The Killing Fields” and ‘A Soldier’s Story” have been picked for the 1984 film awards of the National Council of Churches’ communication commission.
It says it honors movies “which, from a Christian perspective, illumine the human situation.”
“The Killing Fields” was praised for “providing a cinema parable of war, guilt and heroism,”.
