Kim Roentved scored three goals Saturday night to lead the Wichita Wings to a 9-3 rout of the Lazers in a Major Indoor Soccer League game.

The victory, the Wings’ most lopsided of the season, ended Wichita’s five-game losing streak. The Wings had lost five straight to the Lazers.

Steve Wegerle and Erik Rasmussen also scored twice for the Wings.

Roentved scored Wichita’s first goal 1:03 into the game, and Terry Rowe, Wegerle and Rasmussen added the Wings’ other first-quarter goals.

Willie Molano scored for Los Angeles early in the fourth quarter, but Roentved’s third goal gave the Wings a 9-2 lead before Stuart Lee added a late goal for the Lazers.

The Wings (19-22) are almost assured of a wild-card berth. The Lazers fell to 23-20.
