A 36-year-old Long Beach man was killed when his Volkswagen crashed into a cement partition on the Long Beach Freeway. Ken Meadows was thrown approximately 10 feet and was pronounced dead at the scene, California Highway Patrol Operator Bonnie Blatt said. The accident occurred on the transition road from the Long Beach Freeway to the eastbound Artesia Freeway, Blatt said.
