Gwynn’s big blow was a bases-loaded double that keyed a five-run rally in the second inning.

Steve Hill, Phil Woolsey and Deron Johnson hit home runs for the Aztecs (31-14-1).

SDSU’s Tim Arnsberg started. He, David Provencher, Richard Holsman and Matt Haar pitched two innings each before Paul Claes finished in the ninth.
