Minneapolis-based Pillsbury confirmed that it had agreed to a $3.85-million out-of-court settlement of a suit brought by Los Angeles-based Parrish’s Cake Decorating Supplies. Parrish’s originally won a $6.5-million award in its antitrust suit, which accused Pillsbury of helping its former cake decorating unit, Wilton Enterprises of Woodridge, Ill., monopolize the market for cake decorating supplies used by hobbyists. “After a nine-year struggle, we are happy to put our differences with Pillsbury behind us,” said Richard Parrish, president of the third-generation, family-owned small business.
