2 Detectives Shot at Stakeout

Share

Two unidentified detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division suffered minor gunshot wounds shortly before noon today when suspects fired at them from a house they were staking out in the 4400 block of West Adams Boulevard, Lt. Dan Cooke said.

The suspects surrendered, Cooke said, but police called out the special weapons and tactics team to surround the house and make certain that no one else was inside. It was not immediately known what the two wounded detectives had been investigating. They were treated at a Beverly Hills hospital, one for a scalp wound and the other for an injured hand, caused by what police believe was birdshot fired from a shotgun.
