Three men died and a fourth was wounded in apparently unrelated shooting incidents late Friday and early Saturday. Sheriff’s deputies said at least one of the incidents was believed to be gang-related.

Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Neal Tyler said deputies responded to a call at 550 E. Eastmont Ave. in East Los Angeles about 1:45 a.m. Saturday to find an unidentified man dead and Robert Raston, 17, wounded.

Raston died three hours later at County-USC Medical Center. A third victim, Gustavo Gonzales, 22, was taken to the medical center where he was reported in satisfactory condition.

Gonzales was booked on suspicion of murder in the incident, which deputies said was gang-related. Raston also was listed as a suspect.

In a separate incident, Monrovia police heard shots about 11 p.m. Friday coming from the sidewalk in front of 446 E. Duarte Rd. Arriving at the scene, they found Fredrick Leon Brown, 21, who had been shot in the head. Brown died about an hour later at Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte.

According to Tyler, the victim had been standing with a large group of people on the sidewalk, one of whom was believed to have shot him. By the time police arrived, the crowd had dispersed. No motive for the shooting was known, and police have no suspects.
