A man in a wheelchair opened fire on three men in a car who refused to give him money early Sunday morning, wounding two of them, Orange police said.

David Trujillo Hernandez, 33, of Orange, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, said Officer Jim Anderson. He was held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

The shooting occurred about 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of Golden Cue Family Billiards, 1719 W. Chapman Ave.

Police said three men were sitting in their car when Hernandez approached them and asked the driver for money to buy food. The driver responded that they had no money, Anderson said.

The suspect then produced a small-caliber handgun and fired two rounds into the vehicle, striking two of the men, police said. The third man got out of the car, subdued Hernandez, disarmed him and detained him until police arrived, Anderson said.

Miguel Angel Garcia, 33, of Santa Ana, suffered a bullet wound in his shoulder and was taken to UCI Medical Center. He was released Sunday afternoon. Francisco Preza, 25, of Anaheim, suffered a minor bullet wound to his chin and was treated at the scene by Orange Fire Department paramedics. He did not require hospitalization.

The third man in the car was identified as Jose Alvaro Preza, 21, of Santa Ana. Anderson did not know whether the two Prezas are related.
