Three chess players received minor injuries when a man armed with a rifle walked into Plummer Park in West Hollywood and opened fire in their direction, sheriff’s deputies said. The three were treated at Cedars-Sinai hospital for wounds suffered from fragments of the bullets that struck the pavement around them. John Lloyd, 35, was arrested without further incident after deputies arrived at the park and booked him in connection with the shootings. Names of the victims were not immediately released. Investigators could give no reason for the shootings.
