One person was killed and three others were injured Thursday when a motorcycle traveling at high speed collided with a car at Market and Whitmore streets, near downtown San Diego.
Fire Department officials said the motorcycle driver, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at San Diego Physicians and Surgeons Hospital.
His passenger, Kim Bell of San Diego, received multiple fractures and internal injuries and was listed in critical condition Thursday night at Mercy Hospital. A passenger in the car, Roger Murray, 32, was treated for head, neck and rib injuries and released from Physicians and Surgeons Hospital. The car’s driver, Georgette Gallardo, was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Her 3-month-old daughter, Rene, was uninjured.
