USAir, Machinists Union Agree to Pact, Avert Strike

WASHINGTON — USAir and the International Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers reached a tentative contract agreement Thursday, averting a threatened strike by more than 2,000 mechanics and other workers employed by the airline. No details of the pact were disclosed pending a ratification vote.
