Man Found Beaten in Balboa Park Dies
A 37-year-old San Diego man died early Saturday at Mercy Hospital two days after suffering a severe beating at Balboa Park, police said.
Chester Gleason was beaten on the head and underwent surgery for a fractured skull at the hospital after police found him lying near Marston Point on the southwestern edge of the park Wednesday night.
A coroner’s deputy said Saturday that an autopsy had not yet been performed to determine the precise cause of the death of Gleason, who resided in the 1400 block of 7th Avenue. Police have no suspects in the case, a police spokeswoman said Saturday.
