Twenty-eight California post offices, including Terminal Annex downtown, were added to the National Register of Historic Places, the Deukmejian Administration and U.S. Postal Service jointly announced. The offices, built between 1910 and 1941, “symbolize the importance of the post office in the growth and development of California . . .,” said William McEnery, a Postal Service building director, at a press conference in Sacramento. Los Angeles County postal facilities in Beverly Hills, Burbank, Glendale, Long Beach, Hollywood, Pasadena and San Pedro were also cited. All will be marked with bronze plaques.
