Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a 26-year-old Mexican national in a parking lot near downtown Vista. Sheriff’s spokesman Cody Isbell said deputies responding to a reported stabbing early Sunday morning found the victim, Albert L. Ortiz, dead upon their arrival at the 407 North Citrus Ave. parking lot. Ortiz was described by authorities as an unemployed field worker who lived at 300 W. Los Angeles St. in Vista. He died of stab wounds to the chest. Isbell said detectives are seeking Alberto Rodriguez, 27, also identified as a Mexican national, in connection with the stabbing.
